As early as the Neolithic Age, people used "needle stones" to prick a certain part of the human body to treat diseases. The Classic of Mountains and Seas states: 'There are stones like jade that can be used as needles,' which is an early record about stone needles. Moxibustion came into being after the discovery and application of fire. The Yellow Emperor's Internal Classic in the Qin and Han Dynasties said that "the cold in Tibet is full of diseases, and moxibustion is suitable for its treatment", which refers to moxibustion, in which the shape of nine needles is described in detail, and a large number of acupuncture and moxibustion theories and techniques are described. During the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, acupuncture and moxibustion therapy was quite mature, and many doctors proficient in acupuncture and moxibustion appeared. Bian Que recorded in the Records of the Historian was one of the representatives. Bian Que is known as the "ancestor of Chinese medicine". His miraculous needlework and touching stories of saving lives and helping the wounded have been passed down from generation to generation. To this day, there are still Que King Temples, Que King Temples, and various traditional folk sacrificial activities commemorating Bian Que in Neiqiu and other places in Hebei Province. The "Foot and Arm Eleven Meridian Moxibustion Classic" and "Yin Yang Eleven Meridian Moxibustion Classic" unearthed from the Mawangdui Han Tomb in Changsha, Hunan, and the "Pulse Book" unearthed from the Zhangjiashan Han Tomb in Jiangling, Hubei all record the circulation and main diseases of meridians. A small wooden figure with black lacquer was unearthed from a Han tomb in Shuangbao, Mianyang, Sichuan. Its body surface is marked with longitudinal and transverse meridians on both sides, making it the earliest discovered physical model of human meridians in China to date.
